Messenger's note:
The Chronicles is a series that I have been writing for years, but only for a while putting them into a blog, it has influences from books, anime, comics, and even the music I listen to.
The names of the places in this story may or not be real, but this is fiction, and the story is set in an alternate ambiance, so don't expect total accuracy.
I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do when I write it, even if I take too long to update! xD

Chapter 5: Requiem for a dream. Part III
Yevgeny strolled down the streets of Juuban, he was talking softly to himself as if having a deep conversation with his soul, not caring for the looks the people gave him as he passed by, and he walked and walked until he found his destination, Harry’s café.
He walked into Harry’s and sat on the stool on the bar and ordered some tea. He looked at the piled bottles in front of him and around at the patrons having a good time inside the place. Harry shook his hand as he greeted him as Yevgeny gave a small smile.
-“How’s it going young one?” Harry asked happily.
-“Fine I suppose” Yevgeny answered smiling slightly.
-“You seem troubled…”
-“Let’s say I have had an interesting week, but tell me about you Harry? How is business?”
-“Good as they can be (smile) by the way I’m booking some bands for this weekend, be sure to tell the rest of the gang”
-“I’ll be sure to remember that.” He said with a smile.
-“Coffee?” Harry said picking up the fresh pot on the counter.
-“Sure, I could use some…Joe hasn’t been here today?”
-“Nope, of the gang, just you” Harry said pouring some coffee into a cup.
-“I see…”
The wind chime on the door made a sound as someone walked inside the café; Joe waved toward the waitress on the other side of the room and sat on the stool near Yevgeny as he greeted Harry with a handshake.
-“You are late as usual Joe”
-“Gomen ne Yev-san, I was attending some urgent matters…” he said coolly checking his mobile for text messages.
-“Urgent matters as in ‘girl issues’?" Yevgeny chuckled as he drank a bit of his coffee.
-“You know how it is…” he said with a big smile.
-“Did you find anything on the guy that came by the other day? Benji told you anything?”
-“Nope, Richard didn’t spill a thing, what do you know about Nessa?”
-“She is getting better thank god”
-“I’m glad…hey Harry can you get me some coffee?” Joe said making a signal to Harry, who nodded in response.
-“Joe, I need to get some stuff on the back first if you don’t mind…” Harry said as he walked toward the coffee maker.
-“Sure thing Harry my man…no hurries”
-“Alright Joe, spill it…”
-“Since Richard didn’t let go of any information I turned to my friend Mara at intel (Yevgeny rolled his eyes, Joe laughed) No man, take it easy, Mara is cool, anyways…since I’m the nice guy of the bunch, she gave me this (Joe handed an envelope over to Yevgeny) apparently this is some info they have gathered up ‘till today…not much, but it should give us a clue…”
-“Thanks Joe, I wonder why Benji can’t tell us anything…” Yevgeny said putting the envelope inside his jacket pocket.
-“Dunno, maybe he is waiting to be sure of something…god knows…”
-“Here you go mate, your coffee” Harry said as he put a cup of coffee in front of Joe.
-“Thanks my man, you are a saint” Joe smiled broadly.
Witold unwrapped the bandages around Nessa’s right leg, she winced a bit as he passed his hand lightly over he wound, he looked up to her face quickly as he felt her wince and moved his hand away from the leg quickly.
-“It’s ok Wit…” She said calmly, putting a brave face.
-“You can tell me it hurts you know…it is not like I can’t feel it anyways” he said with a smile as he put his hand over the wound again. She winced a little but he didn’t move his hand this time, a soft white light emerged from his hand over her leg. Nessa relaxed as she felt the pain go away little by little.
-“Better milosc?” He asked smiling a little.
-“Yes, thank you…I feel much better now…”
-“I think you are ready for a walk, you are healed enough to do so…”
-“Really??? (her lights lit up) you are finally letting me out of the room?”
-“Oh don’t be such a drama queen, you were injured pretty badly you know…you are still as fierce in battle as always, you should think a bit more of yourself when you fight”
-“Like count my losses or something? You know that it is not happening…”
-“But since you have people to take care of and that depend somewhat on you, you should…”
-“I know I should take care of myself and I think Alex knows the risks of our line of work…I think you know them as well…”
-“And it is because I know them that I say this to you…”
-“Is that the reason you went away?” she said suddenly.
He looked at her with sadness in his eyes; he looked away the second her eyes looked at his own. She grabbed his chin gently, making him look at her, and smiled.
-“It’s ok, I’m not mad at you…”
-“Gomen ne…” he said in a whisper.
-“Why are you sorry?”
-“For many things (he looked away for a second) I didn’t know many things back then Nessa…”
-“Like what?”
He took a deep breath as he was getting ready to answer her when Alex came into the room half asleep.
-“Ne-mama?” he said while walking groggily toward Nessa’s bed and lying down beside her. Witold laughed a little while Nessa stroke Alex’s hair.
-“Want to go for that walk?” Witold said with a smile.
-“Sure, I’ll get ready.” She said smiling broadly, then she covered Alex with the blanket and got up from the bed.
