Messenger's note:

The Chronicles is a series that I have been writing for years, but only for a while putting them into a blog, it has influences from books, anime, comics, and even the music I listen to.

The names of the places in this story may or not be real, but this is fiction, and the story is set in an alternate ambiance, so don't expect total accuracy.

I hope you enjoy the story as much as I do when I write it, even if I take too long to update! xD

Chapter 11: Comebacks...

In the world of the dead, there must be a balance between the dead and the living above them. In the world of the dead there cannot be two of the same kind.

Below now in the world of the dead we find Nadzieja and her other self come together for the first time in 4 years, 4 years of yearning, 4 years of waiting...waiting for them to become one again.

-"I hope you don't mind why I came to visit..." Nessa said with a shy smile.

-"I have been expecting you actually..."

-"Then you know what I must do, don't you?"

-"I would not have it any other way..." she said with a smile, having a sip from her drink.

Nessa smiled broadly, and asked for a drink herself.

Meanwhile in the world of the living, Alexei walked the streets in a quiet manner. he walked admiring the the people walking beside him, the sun shining on the tree leaves reflecting on the ground.

It was after a while that he stopped suddenly, he stopped and looked back, but all he saw was the people walk by, he looked back to the street in front of him, then back behind him. Nothing happened, nothing was there, except the people, the bystanders, the general population.

He shook his head as if shaking off a feeling and decided to keep walking.

Nessa and her other self walked the streets of the world of the dead, they walked making small conversation, they walked remembering old times, old memories, old selves.

Nessa looked around her, around the world of the dead, pondering and imagining a new future...what must be done in order to keep on living, living outside of that world.

Her other self smiled as she looked at Nessa as if she was reading her thoughts. It was then that Nadzieja, her other self stopped and looked at the sky. Nessa stopped after a few steps noticing it.

-"Is it time?"

-"Yeah..." Nadzieja said with a faint smile.

In the world of the living, Aleksandr walked into his favorite coffee shop to get his morning brew. He paused for a second at the door and looked back a little. He saw nothing, except for a tiny sakura petal dancing in the faint wind. He smiled a little and went to try to pick up the sakura leaf in the air. As he tried to grab it he laughed like a child, relishing on the moment.

As he finally grabbed it he smiled as he saw it in his hand. He looked at the sky suddenly and smiled broadly.

In the world of the dead two girls that were one once, are sitting together. Sitting chatting like long lost friends finding each other after a while. They were talking about old times.

Nessa sigh happily and picked up a stone from the ground and threw it far away from them. Nadzieja grabbed one as well, but kept it in her hand.

-"Nessa...are you scared? scared of what might happen to us?"

-"Whatever happens it must be done, it is the only way...are you afraid to go back?"

-"No...rather antsy..."

-"I believe everything is going to be fine...I hope at least" Nessa said grabbing another stone and throwing it away from her.

-"Let's do it then..." Nadzieja got up from the floor. Nessa followed and smiled.

It was time to get them back together, back to be the same person they were years ago, it was time for a real new beginning.

Back in the world of the living, Witold woke up from an afternoon sleep startled as if from a nightmare. He looked around his room, nothing different was there, he turned around suddenly to a noise on his balcony. He got up quickly from the bed to go toward the sound and looked outside without opening the balcony door.

He heard the sound again, a faint thud. He opened the balcony to gasp audibly.

-"Witek..." Nessa whispered lying on the floor. She was bruised, weak.

-"Witek..." She whispered.

-End of Part I.
